You might have to use an old teabag, tea strainers are about as rare as hen's teeth these days. I've been looking for one as well :S

We bought a new tea strainer on Saturday (as we bought a nice bone china tea pot as I wanted proper tea).

Dunnes stores had a nice (ish....well....functional) one.

Yep, you can rot your teeth in a pound shop but can't have a cup of tea after going to the dentist.

There's guy in the People's Park in Dunlaoghaire who sells loose leaf tea. He might have old style strainers.

I should point out he's only there on Sundays when they have the farmer's market.

Stock on Sth. King St will have them (many types).
All Rooms on Liffey St should have something suitable too.
(If feeling rich, the set of brine shrimp strainers from JBL is quite good. Seahorse should have them)
