Certificate Error was created by Bill
Not sure if others are having the same problem or not, but yesterday and today I've been getting an certificate error when trying to log in. It says the certificate doesn't match and I'm advised not to go any further.
Just thought I would mention it in case no one else has.

Hi Bill,

Not getting the error myself, but this site is safe. The s at the end of the https in the address www.irishfishkeepers.com/ makes it secure.

You can click a "radio button" to actually secure the site.

On Chrome; troubleshooter.xyz/wiki/fix-ssl-certificate-error-google-chrome/
On Firefox: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/secure-website-certificate
Internet explorer: help.yahoo.com/kb/SLN5178.html

Hope this helps

I know the site is safe, but it's a bit of a pain logging in. Because it says the certificate wrong - which I'm sure it isn't - I have to go through additional steps to get onto the forum and sometimes in my rush, or sleep, early morning, I often hit the "go to start" button instead of "enter anyway" button which has me starting over again.
This happens on rare occasions on some sites but normally it corrects itself after a couple of visits, but in this case it seems persistent. I can't find a method of correcting it in Microsoft Edge.

Today I serviced my 'puter. I emptied the cache and history etc as well as running the hard-drive cleaner, both the windows one and a generic one. Unfortunately I'm still getting the "wrong certificate" message. I'm also still being told that there is an unread message in "re: part of thread moved" post in the "Forum Suggestions" section. I can't do anything more except resetting my 'puter and I'm certainly not doing that!

Bill,
I can honestly tell you I am having no problems logging in at all - and have no unread messages in the section you mention - indeed, no unread messages in any section. I even logged in with a fictitious identity with no problem So I'm totally at a loss to offer any suggestion to help you.

Is anyone else having similar difficulties?

Not to worry, John, it's doing no harm, it's just so frustrating not being able to just click on and get into the website.
The unread message syndrome has actually been going on ever since that post was split. I can't think of anything else I can try with my 'puter if it is that.

Bill,

Have you tried downloading Chrome and using that as a browser?

I uninstalled Chrome a long time ago because it didn't fit with my usage. But I'll try downloading it again just to see if it makes a difference.

I've sorted part of the problem.
My PC must have stored a very old certificate and not replaced it with the new one. I searched for a more up to date IFK home page and replaced the old one; success!
Unfortunately it still tells me I have an unread message in "part of thread moved".
I'll conquer it eventually.
