Guys,
Just wondering is it allowed to use photoshop to open and edit photos, ie cropping, contrast brightness and resizing, for competition photos. I have it as my default editing program as I do modelling photography so just wondering if it's OK.

Sukahn,
Please read the relevant rules
www.irishfishkeepers.com/forum/37-compet...rules-and-guidelines
(In particular here is the small reference to any photo-modification:
Digital editing is limited to cropping, resizing, contrast adjustment and sharpening (No photo-shop altering). Frames are allowed.:
I hope this answers your question.

The default programme for entries is and old Photoshop one (PS-7) - which is advanced as I ever got.
I use it to reduce entries to a more acceptable (to photobucket) size, but nothing more.
I think the rule (before ever I became involved in the running of the comps) was brought about because some entries were quite blatantly 'modified', giving them a definite edge over the non-modified ones submitted by the rest of us who had no access to the modification software.

Well John if you ever need an entry checked to see if it was modified send it to me, I'm quite good at photoshop and there is a way to check to see if something was.

Thanks for the offer - I'll certainly bear it in mind.
However, with a much lower entry level now that we don't get prizes from sponsors any more the 'less honest' (for want of a better description) entries do seem to not appear - indeed, nowadays the largest bulk of our entries come from a small group of dedicated members who - I'm sure - would not consider stooping so low as to cheat.
But, as stated, your kind offer will be borne in mind should the scenario ever develop.
