Hi all , and a very happy new year to everyone . Now i am wondering has anyone a solution for removing light scratches from the outside glass of an aquarium . The grandaughter said she was cleaning the front glass for me but using a coarse scouring pad. I have tried the rubbing compound we use inthe motor with very little success. Thanks Robert

Here is a link to Inza's excellent tutorial for dealing with scratches on the glass:

If you can catch your nail in them they are impossible to remove no matter how hard you try to buff them out with cerium oxide...

Also if you do decide to start buffing with cerium oxide be prepared to have alot of patience...It takes time / Alot of time...

Watch you tube videos on it first...

Thanks lads for your replies , have just ordered a kit of this stuff off ebay . Its comming from the uk cost 39 euro it does give a warning that the glass could crack or shatter . There are plenty of cheaper kits available from china with a delivery date of 9th march . So will keep you posted , as its on the outside i wont be emptying the tank or removing the fish just taking my time and being gentle , its on 12mm glas so cant see it breaking . Heat dispersion is the biggest factor i would think .
