I would like to upgrade my lights at somepoint,
Currently running two T8 40w tubes and a fluval eco bright under the hood on a Juwel Vision 260l, lightly planted.
Is it worth looking at a DIY build?
Do I consider going open top?
Thoughts and suggestions would be much appreciated.

if its not heavily planted, go with diy, i used 4 leds, so 20watts for my 320 and i had vall and mosses growing fine. its all about the light output, i dont really understand why people use flourcent these days, its just putting up ur elec bill

If you want to go LED but keep your lid as is then seahorse do a conversion kit that allows Led lights fit into the holders of your existing tubes. I am only using 1 strip led instead of 2 fluorescent tubes. Somewhere around 70 euro i think but it means the tank look doesnt change. They do diffeent led strips for heavy plant setups too

I have a 2nd hand Juwel Vision 260, the lid at this stage won't take any more modifications and will need to replaced at some point. The question is do I replace it (for a new led one) or go open top? There is a large plastic strip around the top of the aquarium so it wouldn't be as clean looking an all glass affair.
