What ya using to cycle the tank? Just curious!

Nice scape by the way! I love simple hardscapes! Excellent job!

Will be using Denitrol and after about 2 weeks ill add a few guppys just to kick start the bacteria. Im getting filter squeezings this evening.

Thanks I like the minimal look of the tank.

Just in case your not aware you have to add fish around the same time as the Denitrol.....If you wait 2 weeks to add fish the bacteria will have died off and you will be in New Tank Syndrome territory...Which is not good at all...

The same goes for filter squeezings...You have to add an Ammonia source (fish in this case) to keep the bacteria alive....

Without an Ammonia source all that good Denitrol and filter squeezing bacteria wil die within a couple of days..

Deaglan your best bet is to add everything at the same time, including the fish....You should have no problems that way....I also suggest you use Danios instead of Guppies....Guppies are notoriously week in general (due to overbreeding) and any kind of little Ammonia or NitrIte spike (which you may just see) will wipe them out....Danios on the other hand will tolerate it much better....I would also suggest you test your water daily for about 2 weeks for Ammonia, NitrIte, NitrAte and PH.......You should see no Ammonia or NitrIte and your NitrAtes should get a little higher over the first 2 weeks.....Also watch out for changing PH levels which can happen during tank cycling....PH crashes will kill the fish very rapidly....Feed sparsley during the cycling period too.....

I hope im not patronising you....Ya probably know all this already....Just tryin to point ya in the right direction.....Best of luck with the new tank!
