Im wondering why you wont stay with OA if its working good for you. After all, monthly water changes is better than weekly.

Cheers dude :)......Yeh i had a similar problem with Severum's in the past with root tips......but as you said once there hardy enough they heal quickly :)

The reason i'll be weening the tank off OA is because i see no reason to keep using it to be honest.........I have a good WC system were changing 200+ Litres can be done in 20 minutes and it's always being something i oddly enjoy anyway even when i was emptying and filling tanks using buckets............The system i have in keeping tanks has not failed me yet (ha we all know what i'm going to come home to tomorrow from work!!) ,so i see no reason to change it.

I'm sure i'll use OA again in the future as although i have no idea how it works......it works!!!.......i have only the one tank now and because i like to jump from Rift lake fish to Amazonian fish every few months i do have to break the whole tank down from decor to filtration and start from scratch......This is were OA will be handy for me :) but only the start up pack :)

I'll be picking up another 15 Colombian red tip tetra's on Sunday (work permitting!!) and i also got Gav in Artane to put my name on 3 Ancistrus sp "Rio Ucayali" he has over there (beauties :) ) so i'll do a bit of an update when they have settled, cheers

Bit of an update but not a lot has changed.................To the 10 Angel's,30 Red tip Tetra's and 3 Ancistrus sp "Rio Ucayali" i have added 20 Emperor Tetra's which has added a bit more life to the tank....... Also added some small and large Anubias around the wood which i'm happy enough with.

The "Manacapuru" Scalare's are really starting to show nice colour :)

Here's an updated video with the Anubias and Emperor Tetra's,thanks
