Replied by Homer (Kevin) on topic panda loach ?
Never heard of tank bred ones, the adults do tend to fade very much in colour, becoming grayed.

Kev.

It's NOT "Chee lick", NOT "Chee Chee Licks"!!! Cichlids is pronounced as "Sick Lids"!!!!!

Thanks homer.
The one i saw on the net where probably juveniles so, very cute with their black and white stripes.
Saw them twice for sale on shrimp shops and the cheapest was 125 euros for 5 plus shipping :-(.

Yep. The colours are striking alright - but only in the juveniles. As they mature, they become much more mottled in colour, becoming somewhat of a uniform grey/brown colour. Seahorse had them in stock about a year or so ago

Also, like Homer - never heard of tank bred specimens

Thanks Patrick.
Any idea of the price in Seahorse ?
Was sent a link by a shrimp keeper who had them in his tank, they were tank bred ones, 15 canadian $ a piece.
But obviously they were for sale in Canada :(
I m pretty useless with fishes, i leave wild caught specimens to people who have more experience...

Saw them for 20 euros each in Seahorse recently..they still have some left but they are not juvies anymore so their colours have completely changed..only young specimens have the beautiful black and white panda appearance..the ones still on sale in Seahorse have lost that panda type colouration now
