Those Rainbow garra-flavatra are great fish for a community tank, permanently active and only bother each other, great entertainment and grow to max 4\". Put me down for three :-)

Will do Daragh, they can be hard fish to source as they are seasonal, they have only become available this year in the last week or so (last year, when they were first discovered in myanmar, was the last time i had them in)!

Picked up a Sciaennochromis fryeri \"iceberg\" & a couple of Aulonocara \"OB\" at the weekend.
Stunning fish - I've never seen color like that shown on the OB.
All settling in nicely & didn't lose a speck of colour

Cheers Drew!

-Patrick.

Cheers Patrick, glad they settled in, when they first arrived they all looked a bit washed out, but now they have settled down in excellent water and a good enriched diet, they are all colouring up, some look like they are glowing!
Hi Chris, yeh looked similar when arrived but now stunning, (google images \"aulonocara firefish\" second pic- thats them!
The firefish peacock apparently originated in Germany?

yep, they originated in Germany. Unfortunately, I might add. My personal opinion, if any of you like them fair enough. Fortunately breeders over there seem to be trying to off load them because the demand is gone

Interesting... they appear to be quite new and so far are proving popular here, but they really have to be seen in real life!

Just talked to somebody who knows a hell lot more about Malawis than I do and it transpired that 'Firefish' are a hybrid between Aulonocara 'redflush' and Metriclima esterae 'red'.
Well, ye all know where I stand on hybrids

Hi there Drew,
Im hoping you can help me. Now its nothing to do with my Marine Tank as thats running away nicely. Its my sisters school. She is vice principal in the Sherrif Street primary. They have a 260 vision tank for the last couple of years. The problem is that its not looking great. Tank is grand just whats in it. The had Oscars in the tank but only one is left as some neighbour came in and dumped 2 other Oscars straight into the tank and world war 3 started. The one thats left is in a tank with just green water and little water movement. They are looking for somebody to take the Oscar. Thats were i hope yous can come to there help. Even if the Oscar isn't worth keeping yous would have more experience killing it properly. Now what i recomended was chiclids. So what they are looking for is a Tetratec 700 external filter, Water conditioner, Rock And maybe new gravel and Algae contol. Of course also a deal on the chiclids and also a pleco. The best price i have found for the filter is 74 euro on Zooplus.ie.

If you could reply as soon as possable,

Many Thanks,
Brian Smithers
