I'm planning a hillstream tank with very heavy flow - a 30inch Clearseal tank with turnover of about 30 times an hour - and I'd like to have some plants in it, though obviously not many. anyone have any suggestions for plants that will survive high flow?

I was definitely considering crypts... I think tucked in between the rocks they could survive quite well. would vallis not just get flattened?

This is where Bolbitis (esp B. heudelotii) really comes in.

ah, now that sounds like it might do the job. unlike vallis, it might still look good while getting blasted sideways

Totally agree with Bolbitis. This needs flow.
Try also mini java fern Microsorum sp. mini, or any of the Anubias. All plants with a rhizome like good flow.
For something a little quirky try marsilea hirsute.
