Macropodus ocellata

I think my Macro are a wee bit confused! They spawned again two nights ago, however, the female took over the nest from the male and keeps him away, not violently, but a nudge to get him moving. This morning she blew another nest close to the glass front and moved the eggs into it and is diligently looking after it.
I don't know what's going on, but don't fish amaze us at times. Unless, of course, she sees it as a well stocked larder :S

As I so often say - the fish don't read the same books and online articles we do...when it comes down to it, we really know very little at all.

Looks like she was using it as her personal larder. She's now guarding an empty nest.
Oh! the joys of fish keeping lol
